One man and his dog; both barking mad about films, TV, and books

The Barking Mad About Films Top Ten of 2018

January 2, 2019 by Bill Leave a Comment

Here are 10 Films we enjoyed the most in 2018, we are sure you will disagree with some or maybe agree with some but these are our choices =)

10: Avengers: Infinity War

We really enjoyed this movie but it just left us wanting more so feel we can not review it fully without seeing Part Two

Our review can be found here: https://barkingmadaboutfilms-com.stackstaging.com/we-follow-the-marvel-avengers-into-an-infinity-war/

9: Ready Player One

Plenty to enjoy but the reality is it just was not as good as the book

Our review can be found here: https://barkingmadaboutfilms-com.stackstaging.com/bmaf-head-into-the-world-of-the-oasis-for-ready-player-one/

8: Isle of Dogs

We loved this stop motion animated film, it not only showed the love dogs have for humans but also showed the heartbreak if you were to be away from your dog

Our review can be found here: https://barkingmadaboutfilms-com.stackstaging.com/we-take-a-trip-to-the-stop-animation-world-of-isle-of-dogs/

7: The Shape of Water

This film won loads of Oscars for a reason

Our review can be found here: https://barkingmadaboutfilms-com.stackstaging.com/shape-water-oscar-worthy-wash/

6: A Simple Favour

We loved this great film thanks to great performances from Kendrick and Lively. Once again Paul Feig gave us a real treat and it is well worth a watch

Our review can be found here: https://barkingmadaboutfilms-com.stackstaging.com/our-simple-tip-go-see-a-simple-favor/

5: A Quiet Place

Fantastic horror and great use of sound and lack of it, we loved this film

Our review can be found here: https://barkingmadaboutfilms-com.stackstaging.com/we-feel-the-need-to-shout-about-a-quiet-place/

4: Solo: A Star Wars Story

It is such a shame that the internet launched a huge campaign to slate this film, we gave it a chance and genuinely loved it, it was just great fun

Our review can be found here: https://barkingmadaboutfilms-com.stackstaging.com/solo-is-it-a-star-wars-story-worth-telling/

3: Rex aka Megan Leavey

The clue is in our name, any film which shows the love between a human and their dog is going to get our attention, the fact that it is a true story broke us, we loved it

Our review can be found here: https://barkingmadaboutfilms-com.stackstaging.com/could-rex-be-the-pawfect-service-dog-movie/

2: Mission Impossible: Fallout

Tom Cruise is still a box office draw! Some of the stunts are just jaw-dropping, this is a fantastic action thriller

Our review can be found here: https://barkingmadaboutfilms-com.stackstaging.com/we-fall-in-to-see-mission-impossible-fallout/

And our big number one film of the year

1: The Meg

As a fan of the book, we waited 20 years for this, it only had to have an acceptable looking shark we would have liked it but it was a great entertaining action film, and unlike so many other blockbusters, it is a real joy that it is under 2 hours so it moves along at a great pace

Our review can be found here: https://barkingmadaboutfilms-com.stackstaging.com/was-the-meg-megnificent-or-somefin-else/
