We found a wonderful book the other day which brought us many laughs about the Xenomorph from the Alien franchise.
Yes, you read that right, the alien that killed so many in numerous film outings has now been turned into a loveable cartoon character by Joey Spiotto for Titan Books
The book is called Alien Next Door: In Space, No one can hear you clean!
A moving forward, we learn that the actual creator of the Alien, loved Joey’s print ‘Facehugs for everyone’ and wanted to collaborate on an Alien inspired children’s book.
Sadly H.R. Passed before this books release and Joey hopes that had he seen this finished book, he would have loved it! We are 100% sure he would as this book is fantastic.
We see the Alien enjoying the various holidays, Easter, Christmas etc.
We find out his hobbies from spaceship model building to playing golf, playing in a band with Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver)
We see the Alien in fancy dress as the Predator. A nod to his crossover films with them.
We see him doing the chores, washing, ironing and cleaning etc.
We find he loves Jonesy, Ripley’s cat and even has a pet Facehugger called Mr. Huggles.
Some great Alien references too, an arcade game with the message Game Over Man, the legendary cry from Bill Paxton’s Hudson in Aliens; a fishtank with a model of the original spaceship the Nostromo crew found in Alien; The Alien playing basketball is a nod to Alien 3; we see him playing with Newt and even Alien Resurrection gets a nod, when we see the Alien swimming and pretending to be Jaws.
We seriously can not recommend this book enough especially if you love the Alien Franchise.
