Should You Hurry to See Sully: Miracle on the Hudson

December 3, 2016 by Bill Leave a Comment

This week’s cinema release we chose to see was Sully: Miracle on the Hudson based on the true events of January 15, 2009. An aircraft carrying 155 people on board had to make an emergency landing, using the Hudson River as its runway when both engines became destroyed when hitting a flock of birds. The film takes us through the events and the subsequent investigation that … [Read more...]

Chihuahua promoting Me Before You

We finally saw Me Before You this week, both Mrs BMAF & I loved the book by JoJo Moyes & I’m sure even Pepper enjoyed it, as she was curled up next to me, most of the time when I read it. That film, also directed by Fantastic Beasts, David Yates,  Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was best known for … [Read more...]

It should be noted the film itself was based on Point of Impact (which is available at Amazon here) the first in Stephen Hunter’s book series, so it does have the content to extend … [Read more...]

The ‘Arrival’ of a Must See Film

November 12, 2016 by Bill Leave a Comment

This week we saw Arrival, the new film from the director of Sicario and the forthcoming sequel, Blade Runner 2049, Denis Villeneuve. We had high hopes for this film as Sicario was one of our favourite films of last year, and we enjoy the Science Fiction genre. The fact that film was being compared to classics like Contact; Gravity and 2001: A Space Odyssey. This isn’t a … [Read more...]
