Barking Mad About Films, TV, and Books

One man and his dog; both barking mad about films, TV, and books

Barking Mad about…Star Wars Water!

January 26, 2016 by Bill Leave a Comment

Over the last 5 weeks, when we have gone to the cinema or left for a journey, we’ve brought a bottle of water so we don’t get thirsty and because of the packaging!!!

Yes, being Barking Mad About Films, we have been swayed by Volvic’s bottles made in the form of Star Wars characters.

Available from selected stores, we found ours in toy shop The Entertainer and Shell garages to name two stockists.

But that is part of the trouble for us, we can be swayed by a great movie promotion and with Star Wars you could probably much have your whole diet to a Star Wars theme.

Kelloggs have a  Star Wars cereal  (which if you buy from Tesco, you can even get a Lightsaber spoon with them)

For lunch you can have Lighsaber themed cheese strings, you can watch the advert here. The packs also include collectable Topps trading cards

Also Danone do a Star Wars Yoghurt for a treat too

For dinner you could have a Star Wars Pizza from Goodfellas

You can even learn to bake with Star Wars as Fiddes Payne have various baking packs like the Star Wars cookie kit

These are just some of the items we’ve seen involved for eating and drinking.

Of course, Star Wars was pioneer in movie merchandise. The fact that so many films have action figures are down to the original Star Wars film and the clever marketing ideas of George Lucas.

Now of course, there are more than just 1 type/size of action figure. it’s not just toys for children now, Star Wars can sell anything from Ashtrays to Zoo’s. A Canadian zoo named its newest marmot pups after Star Wars characters.

Luckily our favourite film of all time, Jaws, has limited merchandise ranges but we have some goodies of course, from the books and clothes to models of the great fish himself.

Of course being a grown up now, Mrs BMAF keeps us in check but what about you? What’s been your favourite film promotion? What’s your favourite piece of movie merchandise? We’d love to hear from you here at Barking Mad about Films

The force was strong with us to buy these Star Wars themed waters
