Whenever we hear a book is being annouced for a TV or Film adaptation, if the synopsis sounds great, we will seek it out and read before we watch.
It may seem odd, I’m sure many would watch then read the source material, but we much prefer our way round, you may do as well?
In this blog, we are sharing Seven books from our bookshelf that we have read or about to read, that are all in development for screen adaptations.
1. I Wish You All The Best by Mason Deaver.

This follows a teenager who is kicked out of their home after coming out as non binary, which forces them upon a journey of self-discovery.

2. The Castaways by Lucy Clarke.
READ AND LOVED

Two sisters are about to take a flight to a new destination, the night before, one of the sisters has too much to drink.
Hungover, she misses the flight, but her sister made it onboard.
Whthe plane goes missing, filled with regret for not being onboard, the left behind sister embarks on a desparate quest to find out what happened.
Being Adapated for Paramount+ streaming channel and starring Sheridan Smith.

3. Lazarus by Lars Kepler.

A detective’s past has come back to haunt him, when it appears a serial killer has returned from the dead.
In the works at Apple TV with Tom Hardy currently attached.

4. Apples Never Fall by Liane Moriarty
READ AND LOVED

This book follows the highly successful tennis obsessed family The Delaneys, when the mother Joy, goes missing, Stan is the prime suspect leaving the children to look into their parent’s marriage and face some unresolved issues.
Given the succes of the author’s Big Little Lies and Nine Perfect Strangers, this was always likely to follow and will be made my streaming site Peacock with Annette Bening and Sam Neill cast as the parents.

5. One Day In December by Josie Silver
ON OUR TO READ LIST

Described as a love story about what happens after you meet, or rather don’t meet the one.
The book then follows what happens over a period of time.
It is being made for Netflix and starring Lucy Boynton

6. The Deep by Nick Cutter.
READ AND LOVED.

Humanity is being attacked by a plague called ‘The Gets’ but a cure may be here, after being developed in a research lab under the Pacific Ocean. However all communication to the lab has now been lost.
The Deep is in development at Amazon from C. Henry Chaisson who wrote the screenplay to Antlers.

7. The Perfect Couple by Elin Hilderbrand
READ AND LOVED.

A lavish wedding heads for disaster before it has even begun when a body is discovered just before the ceremony and everyone attending is a suspect.
The perfect couple is being made for Netflix and starring Nicole Kidman and Eve Hewson.
