What's This?

It would seem more and more brands are now using movies to sell their products! Christmas this year seems to have seen it go into overdrive!

The leaders are of course for movie-related Christmas Shopping are Star Wars; Minions and of course Disney’s Frozen, from everything to socks and other clothes to Soap and shower gels.

Not forgetting of course that we can use movies to countdown to Christmas, the previous 3, as well as Marvel characters and Inside Out we have all seen featured on Advent Calendars this year!

This year, thanks in part to Social Media we have seen Movies put on Christmas themed gifts, Bay 57 have a range of movie themed Christmas Jumpers http://bay-57.net/collections/half-price-xmas-sweaters as do Tee Fury http://www.teefury.com/ugly-sweaters  we especially like their one featuring Disney’s Stitch.

Tesco want you to go to sleep Christmassy by giving you Pyjamas with Will Ferrell’s Buddy the Elf on them

Also 80s tees have produced a replica National Lampoon Christmas Vacation cousin Eddie suit https://www.80stees.com/products/christmas-vacation-cousin-eddie-suit

The Westfield shopping centre has even got Shrek and Donkey to take you to visit Santa in its grotto https://uk.westfield.com/london/entertainment/grotto

And don’t forget the tree, how about Star Wars baubles https://www.geekcore.co.uk/star-wars-christmas-baubles.html?gclid=COWM_cfXgMkCFQs8GwodfpcMVQ or Disney related decorations http://www.disneystore.co.uk/homeware/seasonal/christmas-decorations/mn/1500055/

On the Isle of Wight, the town of Ventnor rebrands itself as Ventnorville to celebrate Dr Seuss Grinch story, of course rather than be known for the Grinch that stole Christmas, he poses for photos to help Island charities

And to get away from the shopping, don’t forget the new Christmas themed movies this festive period.

The Night Before with Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt

An all-star cast, including Amanda Seyfried and Ed Helms, bring us Christmas with the Coopers.

British Christmas film, A Christmas Star starring Downton Abbey’s Thomas Barrow (Rob James-Collier) and Suranne Jones.

Plus top of our must-see list, the return of Trick ‘r’Treat director Michael Dougherty with Krampus.

So will there be movie themed Christmas products and viewing in your festive season this year, we’d love to hear from you here at Barking Mad About Films
