This Halloween we were looking for something spooky to watch and we saw in the film schedule that Film4 were showing Fragile.
Fragile is a 2005 film starring Calista Flockhart who we used to love as TVs Ally McBeal. However, the reason we took notice of this film, was because we knew that it had in part been filmed on the Isle of Wight, home of Barking Mad About Films.
The film itself was a good watch but seeing Ally McBeal on the Red Funnel, the ferry that takes islanders to the mainland was rather entertaining.
Prior to that, we had been aware that it was featured in the 1973 David Essex film That’ll Be The Day; Mrs Brown featured Osborne House as well as Billy Connolly and Dame Judi Dench and Guest House Paradiso, the spin-off from the TV show Bottom starring the late, great Rik Mayall alongside Adrian Edmondson and also featured Simon Pegg!
The UK has of course been featured in many a film and we are sure wherever you live, it will have links to film somewhere. These locations can of course help increase tourism.
You can find out from sites such as http://www.british-film-locations.com/info

Of course, London is probably our most popular UK location and it can be currently seen on screen in Spectre, the latest James Bond film, but has been in so many others too from Harry Potter and Paddington to Four Weddings and a Funeral.
Sean Bean made a film around his favourite football team Sheffield United in his 1996 film When Saturday Comes. Sheffield was also the setting for The Full Monty and Brassed off
Scotland has been used for everything from Braveheart to The Wicker Man and Trainspotting.
Wales was setting for the likes of Human Traffic and World War Z.
Cornwall was featured in Catherine Zeta-Jones and Ewan McGregor surfing drama Blue Juice and the Dustin Hoffman thriller Straw Dogs.
Hot Fuzz used the town of Wells in Somerset for its Sandford setting.
Brighton was the setting for Brighton Rock, Quadrophenia and Down Terrace to name a few.
And don’t go cave exploring in Buckingham as they filmed scenes for Neil Marshall horror The Descent there!
The list is endless so has where you live been featured on screen? We would love to hear from you here at Barking Mad About Films
