When you first look at the cast which includes ‘Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clark and Charles Dance, ‘The Hunger Games’ Sam Claflin and ‘Doctor Who’ companion Jenna Coleman you would be forgiven that this would be a big Science Fiction blockbuster but you would be wrong.
It is actually a story about A girl in a small town who forms an unlikely bond with a recently-paralyzed man she’s taking care of.
Will (to be played by Sam) is a young successful man who enjoys life to the fullest but in the opening chapter is involved in a horrific road accident leaving him paralyzed. The accident has caused him to lose so much including his girlfriend and he has now lost the will to live, to the extent that he has tried to commit suicide.
Will’s mum has the idea of looking for a new personal assistant to care for him in the hope he will open up to them as he does not to her.
Louisa (to be played by Emilia) has recently lost her long term job in the local cafe, and to make matters worse, her family depends on her income from it. Louisa goes to her local job centre and desperate for any sort of job considers the care assistant role for Will that is offered to her
Louisa goes for the interview and gets the role as Will’s mum thinks she could be just the thing to cheer her son up and maybe give him a reason to live
The two become inseparable, with Will letting Louisa in, even letting her cut his hair and making him more presentable. Sadly, however Will can not accept his situation and his mother has reluctantly agreed that he can go to Dignitas and end his life.
Katrina (played by Jenna) is Louisa’s younger sister and suggests to her she comes up with ideas that will make Will love life again and make him eventually change his mind
Will helps Louisa become more motivated and try new things in here life and the two confess and confide so much to each other.
