It Chapter 2 Review
What Did we think of It Chapter 2? Read on:

THE BMAF REVIEW:

We loved the first IT, but we had a love of the source material from Stephen King’s book and the much loved 80’s mini-series, so this was one of our  must-see films this year.

Does it deliver,? We felt it did, despite a massive near 3-hour run time but not without issue.

The film shows those kids we know from the first film grown up, and the casting is perfect. We open the film with what they have done to varying successes, Bill is now a writer, Richie is now a comedian etc

We also learn that only Mike has remained to live in Derry, and it is he who after a shocking attack has figured that the evil clown,Pennywise, has returned as part of the ongoing 27-year cycle that we learn happens from the first film. (We would highly recommend a visit of the first film before watching the sequel)

We then follow the Losers club as they again will face off against the clown, by themselves, as well as being with the group, sometimes with horrific consequences.

The trouble is we felt more invested in the Losers Club as children, with all the nostalgia that came with it from Part On. Yet, despite great performances from the grown actors, it did make the film feel more generic and we were disappointed with the amount of CGI and lack of scares.

In fact the film’s most frightening sequence is an attack at the beginning of the film that doesn’t even involve Pennywise but as a film we did enjoy it and did not feel it was overlong.

BMAF RATING:

It Chapter 2 Review
We preferred chapter one but it is a great film watching how these characters have grown but the scares left us wanting more – 4 Popcorns
