The BMAF Review:

When Toy Story 4 was announced we were incredibly sceptical, anyone who has watched the original trilogy will know the 3rd film pretty much has a fantastic ending.

The girls and I are big fans of the original trilogy, does 4 sour that?

So does this 4th Adventure undo this, the bottom line is no, this adventure is by far the funniest of the four, especially from the new characters, Duke Caboom voiced by Reeves is a fun stunt bike driver and as you would expect Key and Peele really bring the laughs to their characters

However the film is not without faults, despite the numerous people involved in the writing, the story is nothing new, with the exception of Woody is teaching new character Forky he is a toy and not trash as apposed to a space ranger.

The new characters dominate so the characters we love from the original trilogy such as Jessie; Hamm and Rex and albeit to a lesser extent, Buzz are pretty much reduced to cameos

The ending is a great finale but only really concerns one of the major characters so a better send off would have made this great.

But whilst this sounds negative, after a slow start, the laughs come frequently and you really get involved with the adventure and this is a treat but is best watched as a stand alone adventure as does not offer much to the original trilogy

The BMAF Rating:

It’s another Disney Pixar classic, Whilst Toy Story 4 was not needed, it is a great enjoyable film and by far the funniest entry of the Toy Story franchise, the new characters luckily are are a huge amount of fun which helps make up for the absence of characters that we have come to love in this franchise
