What's This?
So as fans of this action franchise, we were in the queue to see the Fifth adventure entitled Rogue Nation on its opening this week
We did well to avoid  the trailer campaign for this one other than we know Tom Cruise looks to top his Dubai tower sequence from the last film Ghost Protocol  by this time hanging off a plane whilst in the air
This is a franchise that never seems to leave us feeling let down, the said plane sequence happens in the first 10 minutes then we go through numerous action sequences from fights in the rafters of a theatre during the opera to a thrilling car chase which stops for air to then continue on motorbike
If you liked the first 4, you will like this one, the crew of Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames and Jeremy Renner are all back helping Tom’s Ethan Hunt with the usual lady interest, this time portrayed by Rebecca Ferguson all going up against the now norm for the Summer blockbusters, the British bad guy played by Sean Harris
The story is simple enough, the Syndicate or an Anti IMF Team as Simon’s Benji Character explains it have made all believe that Ethan’s IMF are responsible for acts of carnage with no results.
This leads CIA leader Alec Baldwin to cease all IMF operations which sends Ethan into hiding as he alone looks to bring down the syndicate
Numerous bad guys as well as the CIA are on his trail leading to plenty of action for this latest blockbuster and you are certainly left entertained to forgive the odd plot of the Syndicate’s plan to kidnap the prime minister to use his voice to get to billions of pounds set aside for a terrorism fund after an even more action packed sequence to get to a simcard of this information
Not wanted to give too much away, I’ll leave you to decide if the good guys save the day (although an announcement that plans are in place for MI6  this week may give it away) but do take a trip to visit Tom being the great action hero yet again
