We went to see Mission Impossible: Fallout, the 6th film in this hugely successful Franchise based on the hit TV series.
This film again sees Tom Cruise return in the lead role as Ethan Hunt. Whereas all the films can be watched as individual films, this one also works as a direct sequel to the 5th film Rogue Nation, again written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie.
The film opens 2 years after the capture of Solomon Lane (Sean Harris) and we meet Ethan with Benji (Simon Pegg) and Luther (Ving Rhames) trying to secure some plutonium bombs that has got into the wrong hands, the deal goes wrong and the bombs are believed to now be in the hands of the mysterious John Lark.
IMF leader Alan (Alec Baldwin) fights to get the IMF team on the ‘Mission Impossible’ to get the bombs back with Erica (Angela Bassett) the director of the CIA.
This is in part is Ethan is partly blamed for the loss of the bombs to terrorists and is to take CIA operative August Walker (Henry Cavill) on the mission.
This will see them deal with the White Widow (Vanessa Kirby) as they try to get to Lark. Furthermore, it will see Ethan be reunited with familiar faces Ilsa (Rebecca Ferguson) and Solomon, as he will become a part of the deal to retrieve the bombs from the wrong hands and see him have to check in on his ex-wife Julia (Michelle Monaghan).
What follows is one of the best action movies you will see, this is easily our favourite of an already great franchise. As is the norm with these films some of the stunts are simply breathtaking, involving air; vehicles and running on foot.
To tell too much would be giving you spoilers so if a fan of Tom Cruise; The Franchise or action films in general, you will definitely not to want to miss this Mission Impossible. This should make our end of year top 10 quite easily
