In 2019 we saw plenty of films, but these would be the 10 that we loved the most, we are sure you have your own choices but these are ours, so here we go:
10. Zombieland: Double Tap
We had concerns with a film getting a sequel after a 10 year gap, but bringing back the original cast with some great additions, this was genuinely a lot of fun.

9. Godzilla: King of the Monsters
We loved director Michael Dougherty’s films Krampus and Trick R Treat so had high hopes when it was announced he was to bring us Godzilla, it had a lot more action and is easily the best US version of Godzilal so far

8. Fighting With My Family
This took us surprise, it had a lot of heart and plenty of laughs in this true story of a British Female Wrestler making it in America, we can’t wait to see what director Stephen Merchant brings us next

7. Toy Story 4
After Toy Story 3, we felt no need for another sequel but this was a great story and a lot of fun and gave us some great new characters

6. Ready or Not
This is one of those films that we heard about via word of mouth and it was a great comedy horror which was a real surprise, well worth seeking out

5. Once Upon A Time In Hollywood
Tarantino returns with this cracking movies with a payoff of an ending that has to be seen to be believed

4. Dumbo
In a year where we saw remakes of Disney animated classics, this was the one that stood out as unlike Aladdin and The Lion King it took the original film and expanded the story, we know many hated this but for us, it was truly a great film from Tim Burton

3. Joker
We often state that we are tired of superhero films dominating cinema, but they do keep surprising us and this certainly was another good year for them, we really enjoyed Captain Marvel for example, but it was this dark take on the rise of Joker that was the stand out for us
Our review: https://barkingmadaboutfilms.com/joker/
2. Knives Out
We loved this take on the whodunnit, with a great cast, it was a real treat.

And at Number One: John Wick 3
This continues to be our favourite action franchise, John Wick is our go to action hero and this was a stuning action film and we will be first in the queue for John Wick 4
